100 Days of .....

I was listening to my messages today, and a nice voice from Qwest voice mail reminded me that I had a message that was going to be deleted because it had been on our machine for maximum amount of 100 days. I saved it because it was about our adoption. It was our coordiator, Laura, telling me that she had received our first package for Zane, and that all of our paperwork was in Taiwan. So, what has happened in the last 100 days?

  • Check the email for updates.
  • Read every blog that has to do with Taiwan adoption.
  • Let the laundry go (although that is not new this last 100 days).
  • Swim in the pool.
  • Shop (it is my retail therapy).
  • Check the email for updates.
  • Pay bills.
  • Forget birthdays.
  • Check the email for updates.
  • Fall farther behind on the laundry.
  • Check the email for updates.
  • Celebrate Zane's birthday without him. Freeze a piece of cake for him.
  • Kids start school.
  • Sew halloween costumes.
  • Check the email for updates.

Basically, life happens in 100 days. Zane takes his first steps, gets more teeth, gets a hair cut, says more words (that I won't understand), grows up! It's our hope and prayer that we don't have another 100 days of life without Zane home.

I check e-mail like crazy too when I'm home... keep praying there will be something there from Laura. Mattie's Dancing with the Stars show really cracks me up! When I was little I would hand my parents flashlights, turn out the lights, put on the record player and, make mom and dad watch my "shows." I wondered if they laughed at me as hard as I did while watching Mattie? :)

Very funny! And true! :-) You better check email now. I think Zane is going to keep you too busy for email when he gets home!

We are going to choose instead to focus on Zane's first 100 days at home! Just think it will be the opposite...you will be doing more laundry and falling further behind on e-mail!!! That's okay, we'll all understand! Wow, just think how much he will change in those first 100 days at home and how much he is going to enjoy his new brother and sister. Lots of love and good thoughts to you.
