Last Day...but we didn't know it.

We didn't know it until late this afternoon, but today was our last day in Taipei. We started out the day with a new adventure; the MRT (subway). The subway here is great. Easy to find and commute on and cheap! We took it to give us a break from the crazy taxis. We have decided that there are no traffic rules in Taiwan.

We went first to the Lungshan Temple. This temple dates back to 1738. There were so many people there, like anywhere in Taipei. The smell from all the incense burning was very overwhelming.
We headed back to AIT and received Zane's visa and passport. He can officially come home now. We saw another family there picking up their passport and visa! While Zane was taking his nap, we called United to check our status on getting on an earlier flight. We were on the wait list to fly out early, but they told us that chances were that we would not be able to leave until our scheduled flight on Friday. We wanted to try to get home one day early because Troy goes back to work on Saturday. The flight here kicked our butt, and we knew that one day would help so much. As I was talking to the agent, she told me sorry...then said oh wait one minute. She came back on the line and said 2 seats had just opened up.
We were planning on going to the Shilin Night Market tonight, and the LDS Temple tomorrow; but we gave up the night market (we were done with the crowds) and went over to the Temple. One thing about Taipei, is that their are crowds of people wherever you go. There is no place really quiet or slow paced. When we got the the temple, there were no crowds and it was quiet. We stayed there for about an hour. When we were leaving, all the missionaries were returning. We talked to a couple. It was a great way to end our trip. We are excited to get home, but we will miss Taiwan; not so much the city, but the people. We like to think that we taught Zane this. Kisses to Taiwan!

That was such a cute video (along with the one with him walking)! We are watching it over an over again here at work - he just melts our hearts. Can't wait to see him live and in person. Have a safe trip home!
