We couldn't, and it has been five years since Mattie came home. She reminded us every minute of the day that it was her special day. She knows how to milk something! The day started off with taking Mattie shopping to one of her favorite places ~ Costco. She loves all the food there, and she made sure we picked up some special treats just for her. Then off to school she went, and she told everybody it was her Gotcha Day. All the Kindergarteners were asking their parents when their Gotcha Day was, and screaming that it wasn't fair that they didn't have one. Then off to dinner. Mattie's choice for the night was Chilie's. As soon as we walked in she told me to make sure the server knew that it was her special day, and that she wanted a dessert (and yes, they brought her a shake). That should be enough, but oh no..not for Mattie. It had to conclude with a cake at home for her.
We are sure glad that we have Mattie! Life would not be as much fun without her!
