Even though we have 2 walmarts, and an olive garden...they still call St. George rural. Our Adoption Coordinator fedexed, overnight, our paperwork package on Thursday from American Fork, Utah. The package went from American Fork, to Salt Lake, to Los Angeles, to Las Vegas, then to St. George. The "overnight delivery" arrived on Monday at 1:00. We had all the papers filled out (they were all in Chinese) and back to fedex by 2:30 for "overnight delivery." Now they go to the Attorney General's office here in Utah for authentication, then off to TECO (Taiwan Economic Culture Representation Office). They review our documents that have been translanted into Chinese to authenticate them.
Then we will enter the court system in Taiwan. After one to two months, our orphanage will get a notice to appear, and the social workers will check out our home study. After the hearing, the court will rule on the adoption (usually within two months) and publish a final ruling three weeks later. Then we get to travel.
Totally different than our experience with Korea. Korea was much easier, but we have always liked to complicate things! And he is totally worth it. In case you are wondering about his name, we are still deciding. Jaedon and Mattie call him Pain in the Neck...because all little brothers are pains in the neck!
